History

Murphy Warehouse Company is a family-owned, asset-based, full-service supply chain logistics, rigging and property company based in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. We are one of the Upper Midwest’s largest asset-based logistics firms, serving more than 250 customers ranging from Fortune 500 to start-up companies. Our core services include warehousing, transportation, fulfillment, international services, rigging and millwright and customized business logistics.

Founded in 1904 as a drayage business in St. Paul with two horses and a wagon, Murphy now operates 14 facilities with a total of 2.8 million square feet and employs approximately 180 people in Minnesota and Missouri.

We proudly operate under the fourth-generation of Murphy family leadership, and our company’s family ties don’t stop there. Many of our employees represent the second or third generation of their family to work for Murphy, many of whom also have been with the company for almost two decades. We strive to be an exemplary corporate citizen through our commitment to active community engagement and sustainable business practices. We have a corporate-wide environmental management system, and many of our logistics campuses include features such as native prairies and tree plantings, storm water management solutions, smart LED lighting and solar power generation. These practices represent Murphy’s commitment to industry leading environmental initiatives. In fact, Murphy often consults with other firms, offering guidance for launching their own sustainability practices.

We believe long-term success in this industry is earned, and we invest in our infrastructure, people, material and customers to drive that success. Murphy is constantly planning ahead to the next steps for our growth and development. We prove that it is possible to do the right thing for employees, partners, the community and the environment while running a profitable enterprise.
